Professor Dr. Bo Algers was awarded the Golden Pin of the International Society for Animal Hygiene (ISAH) by President Professor Jörg Hartung, Hannover, Germany in recognition of his outstanding services to the International Society for Animal Hygiene. The ceremony was performed during the festive retirement symposium in Professor Algers honor 20th March 2015 at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Skara, Sweden. Professor Bo Algers retired beginning this year after a long and very successful career as university teacher and scientist in animal hygiene, animal health, welfare and behavior of farm animals. He is one of the most prominent representatives of the International Society for Animal Hygiene (ISAH) which he served as Vice-President and treasurer. As a worldwide recognized authority in animal health and welfare he worked as expert for the European Commission, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and many distinguished committees in his country Sweden.
